Front-End Focus Study Presented at FMI in Las Vegas

NORTHBROOK, IL, March 29, 2010
Front-End Focus will be featured at the 2010 FMI Show in Las Vegas, on May 11-12. It will be a part of the FMI Customer Innovation Zone. Front-End Focus is a comprehensive research study of checkout shopper behavior and merchandising best practices.  The research was conducted by Dechert-Hampe Consulting under the sponsorship of Mars, Inc., The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, Time-Warner Retail, and The Coca-Cola Company. The study was conducted in collaboration with many leading U.S. retailers to gauge checkout attitudes, behavior, and buying patterns, as well as checkout merchandising techniques and sales performance at the lane and store level.

The presentation will address key findings and implications for manufacturers, retailers and equipment suppliers, including:

  • Gaining new insights on the influence of merchandising on consumer shopping behavior and the consumer experience at the checkout.
  • Learning about the role of key categories at the checkout and the impact of self-scanning systems on checkout sales performance.
  • Demonstrating a collaborative approach for moving beyond basic category management to consumer driven in-store solutions.

Two sessions will be conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday of the FMI Convention:
